Chicken Choupsey Recipe | Easy Homemade Indo-Chinese Style

If you love Indo-Chinese cuisine, Chicken Choupsey is a must-try! This crispy noodle dish with a thick, tangy gravy and juicy chicken is a complete meal in itself. It is loaded with vegetables, sauces, and bold flavors that make it perfect for lunch, dinner, or even a weekend party.

Ingredients:

• For Crispy Noodles:

• 200 g Hakka noodles

• Oil for frying

• Salt (as needed)

• For Chicken & Gravy:

• 250 g boneless chicken (cut into thin strips)

• 1 onion (sliced)

• 1 carrot (julienned)

• 1 capsicum (sliced)

• 1 cup cabbage (shredded)

• 2 tbsp garlic (chopped)

• 2 tbsp soy sauce

• 1 tbsp red chili sauce

• 1 tbsp green chili sauce

• 1 tbsp vinegar

• 1 tbsp tomato ketchup

• 1 tbsp cornflour (mixed in ½ cup water)

• 2 cups chicken stock or water

• 2 tbsp oil

• Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare Crispy Noodles

1. Boil noodles as per packet instructions with a little salt.

2. Drain, spread on a plate, and let them dry completely.

3. Deep-fry until golden and crispy. Keep aside.

Step 2: Cook the Chicken & Vegetables

1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a wok.

2. Add chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant.

3. Add chicken strips and stir-fry until cooked through.

4. Add onions, carrots, capsicum, and cabbage. Stir-fry on high flame for 2-3 minutes (keep vegetables crunchy).

Step 3: Make the Gravy

1. Add soy sauce, red chili sauce, green chili sauce, vinegar, and ketchup. Mix well.

2. Pour chicken stock or water and bring to a boil.

3. Add cornflour slurry slowly while stirring to get a thick, glossy gravy.

4. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 4: Assemble & Serve

1. In a serving plate, spread crispy fried noodles.

2. Pour the hot chicken gravy on top.

3. Garnish with spring onions and serve immediately.
